Born in Chicago Illinois, Elliot Powell was raised around photography. His father, a professional freelance commercial photographer, placed a camera in his hand when he was four years old and exposed him to all techniques of photography to allow him to develop his his own style, and way of photographing.
With film dying a quick death he finds himself not being a purist in the sense that he is not beholden to one camera or one image capturing method. He prescribes to the theory that the best camera you have is the one in your hand. He has been known to shoot with film & digital, even capturing favorite images with a “lowly” point and shoot.
He Graduated from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design with a BA in photography. He currently lives in Milwaukee WI with his Wife and Son.
